New Slowes Barefoot. A paradigm shift

Discovering this and experiencing it on my body led me to research and design new barefoot shoes. A shoe that was not more of the same and that would answer:

What can this shoe offer that no other shoe can?

-BAREFOOT . Respect for the shape and function of your feet.

As a designer and barefoot enthusiast, I wanted to honor our feet (perfect just the way they are) and respect the intelligence of nature.

Your feet don't need reinforcements, cushioning or anything that squeezes them or causes pain.

They need to be free , to use the millions of nerve endings, muscles and joints that form them.

Allowing them to be is all you need to keep your body in balance.

• 0 Drop: flat soles that help us maintain good balance and correct posture.
• Flexible and thin soles: the soles adapt to and follow the movement of your feet so that they remain strong and healthy over the years.

Take care of the 26 bones, 33 joints and more than 1,000 muscles, tendons, ligaments and 6,000 nerve endings in each of your feet.

• Space for your toes: footwear that does not squeeze or deform your toes.

The width of their tip allows mobility and opening to keep them toned. This way they will always help us to vascularize our step and keep us balanced.

• Adapted: with removable insole for your transition to barefoot.
• Comfortable: shoes that hug your feet and you'll only want to take them off when you go barefoot.

Open, free and strong fingers.

The closest thing to going barefoot, but with your feet protected.

-INNOVATIVE, ORGANIC, VEGAN AND KILOMETER 0 MATERIALS

Slowers barefoot shoes are made from a super innovative vegan leather, created from persimmons collected from the ground in the fields surrounding the city of Valencia.

An innovative material developed by the Textile Technology Institute and the Valencian startup Persiskin.

After more than a year of searching for a plastic-free vegan leather (that actually contained a significant percentage of organic matter) we finally found this newly invented super material. There is no leather as vegan as this one!

80% surplus persimmon harvest + bio-based material = material with very similar performance to leather, but biodegradable, anti-allergenic and free of heavy metals and animal cruelty.

• The interior is made of organic cotton, suitable for sensitive skin .

• Organic linen insole (removable).

• Vegan leather and organic cotton base.

• Recycled rubber so you don't have to tie your shoelaces.

• No metal elements in the eyelets.

• Biodegradable cork labels .

• And the soles are made of rubber, local organic matter (coffee and rice husks) and are recyclable.

All materials have their certifications and we can track their traceability.

Valencian farmers receive money for a persimmon that was going to be thrown away and we have a local material with an incredible feel, biodegradable and durable.

-GROUNDING . Rooting and reconnection with nature.

Our soles are grounded so that communication between the Earth's magnetic field and yours are synchronized.

Release the excess electromagnetic energy that surrounds you and walk in tune with the vibration of the planet.

ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITMENTS

Two facts (and a conclusion) to share with you.

First, more than 90% of the world's footwear is produced in Asia (often with poor working conditions and careless pollution).

Second, in Alicante we have a long tradition of shoemaking, and yet every year we import more than 300,000 million pairs to Spain. Just one boat trip from Asia generates more CO2 than you or I will generate in several lifetimes.

The conclusion? Our bet (and we hope it's yours):
